Last night I attended Digital Cinema Media’s Tuesday screening for Mad Max Fury Road at the Baftas. Digital Cinema Media hosts a monthly top of the chart movies on Tuesdays and sometimes screen it before the official release which can be a treat. Mad Max Fury Road has been one of the most anticipated films of the year so I was super excited to attend (thank you Cally!!) Karen Stacey, CEO of DCM kicked off the night’s intro with a special guest from the Prince’s Trust; the young ambassador Jess. Prince’s Trust is a youth charity that helps change young lives, helping many young individuals to find their voice, their confidence, their courage to pick themselves up in the real world of work. Jess’ story was incredibly moving; very inspiring but no words can explain how courageous she was for turning her life around with the supportive help of the Prince’s Trust. Jess is one of many millions who found hope in Prince’s Trust and is up to us to support those who needs our help. The charity has launched their first digital ad which features Tom Hardy; again a very moving clip, showing snippets into different people’s lives who are struggling but has hope in the palm of their hands to wanting to change and turn their life around. Thousands learn the hard way and I managed to find their ad on youtube and here it is:
Not taking the limelight away from Jess and the Prince’s Trust, Tom Linay (oh gosh, did he speak after Jess?? I was so engrossed in Jess’ story I cannot remember who spoke after her, but lets assume it was Tom!) introduced the film screening of the night and what to expect our next DCM Tuesdays for June which is Jurassic World! We were all super excited and gripped for what’s to come and the screening will take place at the brand new Picturehouse central in Trocedero and DCM will be the first to screen a movie, how wicked is that.
Thoughts and social engagement of #MadMaxFuryRoad ? It was packed with adrenaline, intense, chaotic, gripping and I swear I didn’t blink throughout the film!! Everyone says that there isn’t much of a storyline but the concept of the film and meaning of the Fury Road journey was incredibly smart and unlike any other movies I’ve seen. What did others say?
“I’ve just about recovered from Mad Max. Mind blown at #DCMTuesdays”
“Just watched Mad Max. Now convinced every car is out to get me. #dcmtuesdays”
I cannot wait for the next screening of Jurassic World, it is expected to be the film of the Summer. We shall see! May x
