On Bank Holiday Monday I met up with my sister and her husband for a morning of furniture browsing…sounds boring but…I actually like browsing home furniture and picturing my own place one day. First up; I came up with the suggestion to have brunch at Bunnychow and what’s worse is that my sister has not heard of Bunnychow before, like whhaaatt. I’ve been meaning to visit Bunnychow since it opened last year but never got round to it so thankfully we made it a thing on Monday. I don’t know why a lot of reviews and media coverage calls it Bunny Chow when it’s actually one word Bunnychow…although the reference of Bunny Chow was invented by the Indian community in Durban in the 1940s (where it was originated from).
Bunny Chow is a South African fast food dish which consists of a hollowed out loaf of bread filled with curry and 70 years later; it’s here on Wardour Street as Bunnychow.
Their menu is simple; offering 5 different Bunnys from Full English Brekkie, to something spicey, to something for the vegetarians. A Bunny is affordable; especially for a cafe considered as fast food but not compromising the quality! A Bunny range from £4 – £5; where you can add sides ( like stir fried kale, ribs, wings and spicy rice ranging from £1 – £2).
I’m also impressed with their cold drinks which you can request for alcohol shots in them (gin/rum) as an alcoholic beverage to go with your Bunny.
This place has the novelty factor; it’s definitely Instagrammable to get the social network buzzing!

I’ve checked out their site and apparently you and your friends of 4-6 can dine for free to be part of a focus group; that’s if you can convince them! You can find the details here: Bunny Chow Focus Group

Where: 74 Wardour Street, SOHO
