The art of photography is a difficult thing to learn if I am going to be honest. When I first help my Canon DSLR camera I thought to myself…I cannot use this, I don’t understand, I am confused…where is the automatic function! It took me over half a year to grasp the camera before I felt comfortable to upgrade and get my hands on the prized Canon 5D Mark ii. Thankfully, a photography masterclass workshop popped up on the rooftop garden of John Lewis in central London. I genuinely didn’t know they had a rooftop garden; I guess it’s not open to the public so I am delighted to check out their rooftop overlooking the view of busy London. Unfortunately, workshop day was on tube strike day, meaning how on earth am I to get home? Do I miss this workshop to make it back home? No! I am going to live a little and not pass on the opportunity to get some masterclass tips for my Canon 5D Mark ii and my newest toy Canon Powershot G7X.
I was lucky to have a one on one session with a Canon pro; I was surprised by the many functions available in my compact camera which I have never explored before. Once I had my one on one, I went my own way to snap some lifestyle and scenic shots around the rooftop to get some photography inspiration. I have been doing a lot of food photography lately which has been great; but I do like a variety and so shooting the world of outdoors was refreshing. To end the night; the suppliers have given away their best and latest compact camera to 4 lucky attendees…sadly I wasn’t one of them (boo!) but the prizes were fantastic, I did want that Olympus Pen!! Anyhow, I had a fun, educational and inspirational evening and feel so much more confident with my camera. My journey home? Frickin sucked by the way!!! Thinking of investing in a Canon? I definitely recommend Canon and I am sure the majority of camera users would agree
