Lamma Island is also known as Pok Liu Chau or just Pok Liu, the 3rd largest island island in Hong Kong. Once a traditional Chinese fishing village, Lamma Island is known for their family friendly hiking trail whilst enjoying great sea and beach views. The trail is un-shaded so you will need lots of sun lotion and bottled water. The beaches can get really busy and I did witness a lot of littering on their off-site beaches which is a real shame. As far as I can remember; the hike is refreshing and not a difficult route at all. I had the best hand made green noodles in bone broth soup and I can say it was out of this world. It was definitely a mama’s recipe but I can’t remember the life of me what the restaurant is called but it’s a very big one by the beach (haha sorry it’s very vague).
You can get there by taking the ferry from Central Pier 4 on Hong Kong Island from Aberdeen. Again, great day out for a family with kids – other than that it can be a bit boring.
