In collaboration with One Events for this post of the week, I couldn’t help but notice One Marylebone on their portfolio. It’s funny because I spent the last 3 years of my life staring at One Marylebone from my desk as I literally work in the glass office building across the road. I witness a different sunset everyday for every season and have been lucky enough to experience a memorable company Christmas party there. Memories flooded in and little did I know that this once a former Anglican church built in 1828 by Sir John Soane to celebrate the defeat of Napolean. Now, it is a venue for functions, fashion shows, weddings, parties and more. Again, from my window view I have seen my fair share of what kind of parties have been going on and I have always thought of crashing the party.
“Sir John Soane’s best-known work was the Bank of England, a building that had a widespread effect upon commercial architecture. Grade I listed by English Heritage, One Marylebone is one of only three London churches by Soane; it was the most expensive and now considered to be the most architecturally distinguished.”
One Events host a number of extravagant function spaces around London which includes One Mayfair, One Horse Guards, One Embankment.
