I finally got my hands on the Benefit Push Up liner! Read a lot of reviews, seen a lot of pictures and how to create the cat eye flick look etc. RRP at £18.50 I wanted to see what it’s all about. I have been using Mac’s gel liner for 2 years now and it is time to try something new without having to use a brush and gel pot. What’s great about this is the tip is a rubber texture, so it runs very smooth across your eyes without that dreaded course feeling you get from point brush tips that stabs you. In terms of supply, the black ‘paint’ liner is only a 1/4 of the pen, so don’t assume it’s the whole pen and waste it all. This is a twisty pen from the bottom and you do need to twist a good 10 times before you see anything coming out. Once you see the gel, draw on your hand first so you don’t end up getting clumps or dried gel on your eye lid. I must say, once you have used it a couple of times and dries up on the tip, I had to to keep twisting the pen and draw on my hand to remove the dried, clumpy gel before applying.
It is very easy and smooth to apply. Accuracy is what I needed so the tip is sharp and angular where the lower tip helps lower your eyelashes so you can draw more accurately. It says it’s waterproof? Yes, for me this is important…you know..Asian eyes and double eyelid issue! Luckily, no smudges for a good few hours. After 8 hours I’d say, you see smudges but (if you don’t use primer) very faint so not a problem at all (just wipe it with your finger!). However, London has been scorching hot and when I was trapped on the Underground tube, it got really humid and sweaty! As a result, my eyeliner did smudge from the sweat on my face (gross I know but it happens in a non-air conditioned train).
Overall? It is a little expensive at £18.50 but the results are amazing. Sharp, accurate pen to create the even look (which is so hard to achieve). My eyes are defined, subtle and bigger (tick tick tick).
