Burberry Beauty Makeup: Day and Night

Burberry Beauty works very well with Asian skin tones and facial structures. I have the full face range and decided to share with you all of what I like to think Burberry Beauty is. I like my colours very neutral, and Burberry is exactly that.. Classic. I like to think that I can achieve both looks; day & night with this carefully selected set and so makeup prepping did seem longer than I normally would spend. Liquid sheer foundation ( Trench No. 05) is great to hide blemishes, however I am quite fearful of smeers. The No.05 colour is a little darker than most nude shades, but I recently caught a bit of a tan :p I religiously use the sheer powder foundation to smoothen the liquid foundation, and gives you a very natural coverage (the photoshop look).

I have always liked the smokey eye effect; as it accentuates and defines your eyes and no doubt make my eyes look wider and bigger, which this is usually what we want as Orientals. The palette I used was Burberry Taupe Brown eye shadow No.7. It was very soft to apply with an easy applicator. The Burberry eyeliner was very soft, not harsh at all; and so I used the applicator to smudge the liner into the shadow to create the thick smokey look.

Lastly, my favourite part to the makeup prep are my lip colours. No makeup is complete with a full lip colour. So for the day, I have this gorgeous Burberry Lip Glow in Nude Beige, and for the evening I have the transformation colour of the Burberry Lip Cover in Union Red. I loved how natural the makeup looked; rather natural yet empowering with the Union Red especially. Before I walked out the door, I felt confident and was ready to enjoy my evening with the girls.

Many thanks to Style Slicker for taking the shots for me.

August: What’s In My Makeup Bag

Summer makeup bag

This summer, I am keeping my skin looking natural, fresh and youthful. I have ditched the heavy foundation and have gone natural by keeping my skin hydrated with Melvita travel size day cream which smells of garden rose (and is organic), mmm. After emptying my makeup, only to realise how pink my collection is. I absolutely adore my Chloe leather pouch which I use as a makeup bag, and when I am popping out for the evening, it is my perfect clutch. So what is in my Chloe makeup bag this summer:

Burberry Body Parfum : Pink nail filer : Melvita cream : Batiste dry shampoo : tweezer : Blotting Paper compact : EOS lip balm : Ipod Shuffle with a candy sticker

Blotting paper

You might all wonder what blotting paper is! It works like a miracle and is a must have in the summer especially if you have a greasy face if we are going to be honest here. What each paper sheet does (in my compact there are 160 sheets) is that it collects the oil/grease on your face rather than it being smeared across your face. We have a tendency to wipe our face when it gets hot, but this helps remove the grease and transposes it on to this paper. When you touch your face again, you can instantly feel that the grease has gone..temporarily. But it is a great quick fix on the go, especially if you are going on a date or a night out, and the last thing you want to do is to turn up with a shiny face. I bought this from SaSa drug store in Hong Kong, but I am very sure you can find blotting paper in your local pharmacies.

eos lip balm

EOS balm

This is my recent purchase after seeing so much hype about the EOS Products. I am not going to lie, I saw pictures (Instagram) of Kim Kardashian wearing EOS lip balm and by looking at the unconventional shape, it got me really intrigued. It is a very natural product, which comes in a range of flavors. I bought the Strawberry flavor and my gosh does it smell of strawberries. It is shaped like a candy egg which you twist out. When I apply it on, it is so easy because of the sphere mould. I love the novelty idea as well as it being natural.

Here’s to my summer makeup bag.

Oriental Beauty Fact: Bigger Eye Bags are the New Korean Trend

I have been dying to share this with you all since hearing about it- the must have bigger eye bag trend in South Korea. Crazy? Yes! Is it true? Yes.

So what is the reason for having bigger eye bags when people in the west are dying to get rid of them? I am Chinese but am a Londoner, so I don’t know whether I should appreciate my eye bags or stick with the fact that I hate them. Korean women are doing everything that they can to plump their eye bags by using commercial sticky tape to plump them and/or via makeup. The options are endless; they even go under the knife to achieve their desired look. This new trend is called “aegyo sal” which means eye smiles or cute skin. I even read some where that girls get them as it may make them appear smarter and that they have worked hard in life (which perhaps how we would translate that by working and staying up late), whereas if you do not have eye bags; it portrays that you may be a little princess who didn’t study hard at school and hence no brains. Here are some pictures below, the many ways to achieve the “aegyo sal”.

Eyes that really pop: Weibo provides an online picture tutorial demonstrating how to achieve aegyo sal, the Korean trend for increasing the amount of 'puff' beneath the eye through make-up, sticky tape or plastic surgery

Before and after: Blogger Patricia Cahigas demonstrates aegyo sal using make-up alone

I guess when I go to Korea I will be admired for my eye bags! But for now, I find this trend very bizarre and can not wait for the next trend to pop up! Come on Japan, I know you can beat this. I guess I can embrace my natural eye bags:

Jo Malone Sample

I have never tried purple nail varnish before so I thought I’d give it a go. I really am surprised how great Leighton Denny polishes are. Have you ever experienced buying a bottle of varnish thinking what it looks like on the bottle will be the colour on your nails; and that the colour is different? Leighton Denny nail varnish is exactly the colour you see on the bottle and love how smooth it applies. All you need is one coat!! At the same time, I received a lovely purple square post from my letterbox and it was from Jo Malone. Their new Peony & Blush Suede perfume is out in September so I took a whiff out of the sample, it smells so gorgeous and fresh! Perhaps I should take up on their offer for a little pamper day. If you sign up to Jo Malone you will be able to receive these too, a little for everyone. They are great as gifts (and they wrap them up so beautifully) as well as sitting on your bed side table with fresh peonies.

Burberry Lip Cover Tulip Pink

Burberry look

My latest Burberry Beauty review and on the latest colour! The texture of the Burberry lips collection is so smooth and non sticky. I like to achieve the au’ natural look but still slap on sheers and lip glosses! My ultimate trick is generally sheer powder, mascara, and nude pink lips. This week, my favourite lip cover is Burberry lipstick in tulip pink colour. Just by looking at the colour it makes me want to go mmm yummm! I have this habit that lip covers isn’t complete without a tint of gloss and so I matched this with my Burberry lip gloss in blush pink. I love it and definitely happy with the result! I really do recommend you all to invest in Burberry, they really do last a long time as their expiry date is 24 months!

Oriental Beauty Fact: 18 Approved Hairstyles in North Korea

north korean hairstyles for women

Here is another Oriental beauty fact of the day; as my first post had proven popular of the great and strange facts about the far east! This piece of fact have circulated around my community and thought it would be awesome to share this with you all. It is true, the above 18 hairstyles you see are officially sanctioned hairstyles of which women are encouraged to choose from. These pictures are hanged up in salons in Pyong Yang. These hairstyles are approved by the communist officials to clamp down any western influences. I tried to pick one myself if I ever had to, but am struggling to choose one. Perhaps I would go for number 15…or am I disillusioned for the fact that she is the better looking of the bunch; who knows.

Unfortunately, the strict guidelines also applies to the men in Pyong Yang, North Korea.

Fashionable: Men should keep their hair shorter than five centimeters and have it cut every 15 days

There have been circulating theories that if they grow their hair long, it can rob the energy of the brain! Crazy or not but these hair styles still apply to this day in North Korea.

I hope this has been an interesting read for a Monday afternoon! If you had to choose hairstyle, which would it be?

Taking the Perfect Selfie with Lee Dong Min

$

There is a popular Youtube clip which features a young Korean girl that teaches you how not to take a selfie and the angles to go for. The video illustrates exactly what angle you should take your selfie and showing you the drastic difference from fat ugliness, to cute pretty selfie (from low angle to high angle shots).

It is true, we as commuters love to sit a lot and have a lot of spare time whilst sitting on the bus and trains. What better to do than taking a sneaky selfie. But this is the general mistake; because these secret selfies on public transport means you opt for the low angle shot which gives you the double chin, fat ugly look as Lee Dong Min portrays:

Before: A Korean girl demonstrates that an unflattering camera angle can make a selfie turn out horriblyNot a pretty sight: A young Korean girl shows that a low angle selfie can be disastrous

However, Dong Min then educates us that if you take a selfie from a high angle, this trims down your face; making you look skinner than ever, with the combo of illuminating natural lighting on the side of her face. Her Eyes appear bigger and .. looking from ugliness to pretty.

After: A change of angle makes all the difference, as this YouTube video by a young Korean girl showsBeauty: The 14-second video shows just what a camera angle can do to appearance

Here is her infamous Youtube clip about taking the perfect Selfie.

#Selfie has become a social phenomenon and at least we should get our angles right! Mobile devices are even adapted to cater for these selfie moments where phones have incorporated a selfie app with the camera which photoshop blemishes, and smoothen lines whilst taking your perfect selfie.

I hope you have enjoyed my post today and would love to hear what you think.

Keeping it Natural with Smashbox Makeup

IMG_6422

My lovely sister Style Slicker went to a Weekend break with my other sister (jealous) and came back with gifts ^__^ I love gifts and gave me these lovely Smashbox range. I have never used smashbox before but I have heard all about it. I can see why she gave it to me, she’s not much of a pink fan and I guess it fits under my age bracket more :D I love how natural it looks with a tint glow of pink.
IMG_6410
IMG_6406
IMG_6426

So what were the goodies?

Pop of Pink Blusher for cheeks – I must admit, I don’t own a blush powder at all! I am quite lucky to have visible cheek bones and so my face isn’t as round. Also, my main reason is that… I can never get it right and end up with too much pink on my cheeks which then looks like I have been punched in the face. But after my first nervous try, I am please with the colour; very subtle and natural tint.

Full Exposure Smashbox Mascara – It is a very thick brush as you can see, but what’s so great is that it adds so much volume and highlights my lashes in jet black. The brush coats up a lot which then applies thick. Great for me as I don’t have much eye lashes. Retails: £18

Posy Smashbox Pink Lipstick – blush pink colour; however my sister insists that my skin shade is too dark for this colour. I on the other hand love the colour, but I guess I agree with her to a certain extent. blush pink lipsticks – I shall wait til the tan fades! Retail – £15.50

Reflection High Shine Smashbox Lip Gloss – long tube, easy to find in the handbag at least! My worst fear factor is when you accidently squeeze to hard and darn..everything spills and gets a little chaotic with the tissue! I like the consistency but a little thick I’d say. But no lipstick is as good without a bit of gloss. Retail – £15
IMG_6428

I am so glad I exfoliated my face the night before; I had a rather flaky day yesterday. I am so glad with the hint of blush which highlights very subtly and then top it off with lip shine. This collection is called Smashbox Pop of Pink all for £35 which isn’t bad considering the value for each piece.

Have you tried Smashbox before? I would to hear your thoughts.

September Issue… Pen Marks & Stains on Leather Handbags

Calender Stark MCM
September MCM calender

Oh September, you are playing up again, you are rainy one day and heat-waving unexpectedly. As I tap on my calender for a moment with my ice cream pen, I pen down holidays and blogging schedules! Then I look at all the blank spaces and wonder what I could be doing. Then I rolled my eyes and saw the ugliest yellow stain on my MCM FIrst Lady handbag. It is by far my favourite handbag I have in my materialistic collection and when I see a stain, it just breaks my heart. Here is a very good tip as to how to keep your leather handbag clean and remove dirt/stain every time.

I am not very keen with leather removers; they are very specific as to what will work on the type of leather and they tend to be rather expensive, and even more expensive when it doesn’t work! On calf leather (cow leather), it is the easiest leather to clean!! All you need is non alcoholic makeup wipes. That’s right, that’s how to clean a leather bag! I have man handled many types of leather handbags and makeup wipes does the job. It rubs between the grain but I advise to clean it as soon as you splosh your bag! Pen marks? Dear old pen marks; they are very difficult to remove! During my time working with leather handbags; use a white rubber and go along the grain (calf leather, not lambskin). This will make the pen mark lighter and not so obvious. Then, I use my makeup wipe to try and remove a little more. To be honest, I had a nasty pen mark on my beige wallet, and within time (rubbing over time) it comes off so there is hope.

Now Lambskin handbags… don’t even go there unless you can afford to get it ruined. You can not clean it, unless you use super expensive lambskin cleaners which won’t do the whole job.

The power of Makeup Wipes, not only wipe away the slap on our faces, but cleans your bag AND… naturally polishes your bag and gives it a nice shine.

Leather cleaner..wet wipes
Makeup wipes to clean your leather

Hats off to makeup wipes. Do you have irritating problems with keeping your bags clean?

inhibitif breakthrough hair removal

I first heard of inhibitif when I was sitting on the tube and saw the ad as I looked above. Honestly, I am never sold when it comes to underground tube ads but this ad clicked to every female on the planet when it comes to a “breakthrough” for hair removal. No one likes to be a hairy beast; and even for Chinese girls who don’t get hairy (luckily) we still want to be hair free as well! So, as my next stop was due, I quickly bookmarked my Google search of inhibitif as it is not a brand or word I would remember. I ran around the whole day to every Boots in central London to find this and guess what: it is like a gold mine because it is sold out everywhere!! Now this made me more determined to buy one. Little did I know that I would end up with 2 bottles! I ordered my inhibitif at my local Boots store and she told me that the offer is ‘buy one and get another half price’, this sounds like an amazing deal and snapped it up as they are rather pricey retailing at £29.99 240ml bottle for an impulse buy.

Came home, uncapped and thought…right where would I like to go hair free :D So my holiday is coming up and thought the best way to set this inhibitif challenge is to go bikini! As recommended, to spray twice daily on shaved/waxed area. I noticed that spraying on shaved bikini area isn’t as effective so mid week I sprayed on a newly waxed bikini area ^__^ it smells very minty and feels like polo mint was crushed and sprayed on! For the first week it is difficult to see any results, so we shall see progress for week #2 inhibitif challenge.

I hope you can follow my journey through this inhibitif review for hair removal for the next 2 months. I hope this is the end to being a shave slave and join the smooth movement with inhibitif.

Night Owls! Tea Bags for Eye Bags

$

The long week has finally come to an end, I have been a bit of a night owl and a serious procrastinator which meant I end up falling asleep at 2am almost every night. This is bad bad bad. The many reasons to fall asleep by 11pm-12am:

Your skin repairs and regenerates, reduces your eye bags and circles, your skin naturally glows, sleeping late will age you quicker.

Even though we know all of this, it’s a difficult routine to get into. So I have started to use soaked teabags for my eyes to reduce the size of my eye bags. Obviously, it is not going to reduce them straightaway, but after a cuppa tea, lets waste not and recycle these tea bags for beautifying! It does feel good to lie down whilst MTV is playing the background. My eyes do feel refreshed after I have rinsed my face. The tea bags also managed to remove some leftover eye makeup from last nite, ew!

Tea making

Power of tea

Tea Bags for Eye Bags

It is so relaxing to lay down with warm tea bags on my eyes, but when it gets cold it’s not that great. I would definitely say this is penny saving eye mask. In future, when I make tea, I go for a quick lie down and slap those tea bags on my eyes.

There are so many different ways to help reduce those eye bags: Cucumbers, tea bags, lemons.. (joking). Maybe I should try the cucumber too.. although I much prefer the warmth of a tea bag! Or in fact… just get some beauty sleep!

The Tangle Teezer Brushes Through Anything!

$
0
0

I have a confession to make, I never brush my hair! I have always run my fingers through my hair to maintain it, but it isn’t good enough; if anything bad for the scalp. I need a hair brush and to take my grooming responsibilities seriously. The only hair brush I have ever owned was a bright pink neon Tangle Teezer. By now, you know how long my hair is…if not here is a reminder:

Before Look with my natural straight hair

I think my hair has grown a little longer since. It may look like it is healthy, but I constantly pull out strands of hair and it annoys my friends because my hair fall out and leaves trails of evidence on the floor. I have always struggled with brushes because I have so much knots and split ends and I would cry to see my hair get chopped off by the hairdressers! But the Tangle Teezer has spoken out and answered every girl’s prayers! It is what it is and combs through ANYTHING.

I first heard of the Tangle Teezer on the hit tv show Dragon’s Den where the inventor pitched for an investment of £85,000 in exchange for 15% of his business. Shaun, the inventor of the Tangle Teezer had the last laugh after the 5 Dragons deemed his business unprofitable. It is now stocked almost every hair dresser I have seen, and retails from Boots to Selfridges. Best thing of all, it is a British invention!

Unfortunately, after paying £12 for my own Tangle Teezer with a lid on it, someone has stolen it! Don’t know when and how it happened, but they clearly know how amazing it is to steal someone else’s used hairbrush! Well, looks like it is time to leave the past in the past and get myself a brand new one.. new colour perhaps?

Tangle Teezer Compact Styler Pink Sizzle with High Gloss Finish
Aqua Splash Teezer

Since then, they have brought out a range of Tangle Teezers and one I really want to try is the Aqua Splash Teezer for tangled hair after a session in the pool! Girls, we have all been there; especially when it rains in London. A drop of rain instantly frizz your hair up and becomes irreversible for the day. I guess a great use for the Aqua Teezer is the problem solver when drenched in the rain!

I have posted a similar review about Jose Eber curling irons and how that gave me full and volumized hair here on this link: Jose Eber Curling Iron

I hope you have enjoyed my post today and fingers crossed for sunny days in London.

Week #2 inhibitif Challenge. Don’t be a Shave Slave

inhibitif breakthrough hair removal

2 weeks have gone by, and I must admit there have been some slacking and got lazy applying twice a week. Safe to say, I haven’t gone crazy spraying like there is no tomorrow. The last thing I need is a bottle almost empty in the first few stages and getting tricked in to buying another bottle to keep up.

I can definitely see the difference where the shaved area; the hairs are sprouting quicker & thicker than a waxed area! Immediately I can disregard that shaving and then applying inhibitif isn’t effective. As for the waxed region; I can see a slow growth of fine hairs but still difficult to tell what is happening, but great news is that I don’t have to think about “time to wax soon”. The baby hairs are a lot finer and aren’t as prickly nor visible, this is great news for week 2. At the same time, I think having the Chinese gene helps reduce hair growth a lot quicker than most.

For week 3, I am going to try my best and use the inhibitif spray twice a day to speed up the process and ready for my North Cyprus trip.

Stay tuned for week #3 update, otherwise if you have my first post you can read my inhibitif review for week one on my blog.

National Handbag Day: My Top 3 Bags

$

National Handbag Day

So it is National Handbag day today on the 10th October. Shame London doesn’t recognise this day! Here is my favourite top 3 handbags that I adore very much!

In 3rd Place: Lulu Guinness snakeskin clutch in lipstick red! It is so quirky and is so much fun to carry around. I have had lovely memories from Halloween to a girly night out with 15 others doing the typical lips pose with it. IT definitely draws a lot of attention and the downfall is that you can only limit yourself to carry a phone, a key, and loose cash! You will even be lucky to squeeze in a lipstick.

In 2nd Place: Chanel quilted lambskin crossbody in black. This was a special gift for myself and probably the most expensive I have splashed out in terms of forking out money!! Every classic Chanel is an investment and every girl should own a Chanel at least once in their lifetime. My best memory of this bag is a sweet day out with my two besties at The Ritz for afternoon tea…and birthday cake… and harpist playing the most beautiful birthday song… and spelling my friend’s name wrong.

In 1st Place: MCM first lady satchel crossbody in aqua blue. I have always been obsessed with this bag since the launch. I decided too long whether to buy it or not because it was £450!! Then it was all sold out and sulked online looking for it. A year later, the model and colour came back! It was a miracle and had to snap it up..and so I did. It is my favourite bag of all I have owned (sorry Balenciaga).

What is your favourite bag of all time or desire?

Pre and Post Holiday Body Dilemma: Run or Swim!

Adidas boost running shoes

So here’s to first world problems for women. I have just got back from a beautiful holiday in North Cyprus and have slightly indulged more than i should on kebabs and cheesecake!!Even worse, my sister never finished her meal so I was her dustbin and hovered her plate for 5 days. Now that I am back in rainy London, I am going through post and pre holiday body dilemma as I am off to Fuerte Ventura next week. Yay another beachy holiday but f**k I am out of shape!! We all know how easy it is to tell ourselves we need to work out..but I’m suffering from comfy couch syndrome. It’s Saturday and wondering if I should pop out for a swim or run. Which of the two would serve me best in terms of shifting the wobbliness! I love the idea of swimming because of less gravity, however after a good swim my appetite increases and can not promise i would not nip in to Mcdonalds just outside my leisure centre (evil placement). So i have decided to go for a jog!! At least I have my music to run along to to keep my mind from thinking “I am tired and i need a break”. It’s also annoying having to carry keys, phone, ipod, maybe some money, tissue for the runny nose!! But bare essentials is only what’s important: keys and music on my phone! I have a tendency to work out like a princess.. when i feel a lil warm and sweaty I stop for a long walk and next thing you know it…I’ve had enough. I call this my exercise princess syndrome! However, I did manage to invest in great trainers from Addidas. They are incredibly lightweight as if you are running on air so that’s a great incentive for me to put my feet in those trainers. Just in-case you guys start saying “what are you talking about, you’re so skinny”. You are what you eat and I know exactly what I ate. I just need to get back to the feeling where I once had stable meals on steamed fish and Jasmine rice..home made by…off course my own mother.

Would would you do, swim or run to save yourself?

Chanel Waterproof Mascara: Don’t Be Embarrassed To Ask For Samples

Chanel free samples
Chanel Waterproof Mascara

I had a lovely day out with one of my besties Natasha and decided to treat each other for our belated birthdays (4 months and 7 months ago) because that’s how we do it every year..ie we are crap to meet the deadline. Natasha wanted the Chanel rouge lipstick and in great style, we soaked the experience in Selfridges and trying all the colours too. Once we have decided we went to Boots and made our purchase there to get her points on her Boots card! I then spotted the Chanel inimitable waterproof mascara of which I had no intention of having one. But in my mind I thought…I am going on a beachy holiday and want to look good in pictures and thought an anti runny mascara when in the sea would be a great idea! Natasha being Natasha wanted to treat me and bought  the mascara for me…it was £24!! Now, we all know that all beauty counters have samples and sometimes, embarrassment to ask can get in the way but who cares, i am never going to see this counter lady again so i asked very sweetly. Luckily, the lady that served us at the Chanel counter was from the Lancome counter because the Chanel lady walked off to grab lunch. And so the Lancome lady gave us a stash of Chanel samples.

Unfortunately, even though the mascara remained rather smudge-less; my eyes did sting quite painfully when I was in the water. I guess it wasn’t the idea i had in mind. I guess what they meant by waterproof is that it is smudge, sweat and cry proof. The brush itself is fab, it really defined my eyelashes and gave it a non clump but extended lashes.

So what free samples did I get:
Chanel little samples

- SPF 15 cream compact foundation (fresh and hydrating)

- Ultra correction lift intensive serum

- Bleu de Chanel eau de toilette

- Firming and smoothing fluid makeup

- Ultra light skin perfecting makeup

What’s your favourite Chanel beauty?

So what’s the conclusion? If you can get hold of free stuff, make the most of it! At the same time.. you have to be very nice to these counter ladies, they do get bored sometimes in their day job so try crack a joke or say how pretty they are!!

It’s a pricey investment but all you need to do is cut down on how much you spend on sweet treats! Here is my collection of Chanel indulgence - http://redvelvetlondon.com/tag/chanel/

Week 6 inhibitif Challenge: Did You Know There Is Hair-Free Deodorant?

inhibitif

I have been extremely lazy when it comes to commitment with a program! I just don’t stick to it and compromise when i feel like it. HOWEVER..even though i have used inhibitif a few times..the result was unbelievable, even when i slack it still works. When the hairs grow i can feel that it is a less prickly but you can barely see it. This is great because that meant i didn’t need to shave or wax! Whilst on holiday and in a tiny bright blue bikini..i felt secure to not have to shave at all all week. So i took to no shaving/waxing further and so post holiday and not spraying inhibitif, i have noticed that the new hairs growing are back to normal whilst the tip of the hair that had the treatment remained “bleached” so you can see the difference on non sprayed and sprayed hairs.

Also, I have noticed that inhibitif have an expanded range on hair removal for face and deodorant! Brilliant! I can not wait to get my hands on those (if they are not sold out). If you would like to read my previous posts on the inhibitif challenge; here is inhibitif week 1 and inhibitif week 2

Have you tried the inhibitif solution yet? It is well worth every penny.

More Hope In A Starbucks Mug

Yesterday was very dull, grey and rainy. All my friends were sleeping in, staying in and wrapping up warm. Strolling around Bond Street and luckily there were these ladies eagerly handing out Philosophy’s Hope in a Jar moisturizing sample and travel case. Great timing and I always love a free sample! I’ve heard wonderful things about this cream and I definitely did couple of trips back and forth to grab some more (was greedy and managed to pocket 6 samples). I definitely should have read what was inside as there were more giveaways!! To celebrate the new opening counter at Debenhams Oxford Street, I could redeem a mini miracles skin care collection!! Darn! I am going to try and get my hands on one today.

The sample cream smells rather strong..not a big fan of strong scented creams. The texture is light and water like consistency so it soaks straight into the skin. 15minutes in I can feel how moisturized my skin feels as this is perfect and what I needed for the Winter to come.

For a wet and grey day, it was a great day out as I was on my way to Strand and not knowing that my route would lead me to a firework display in 5 minutes!! Lucky me. I had a great view and captured the perfect moment:

Secret Santa gifting

It’s December and I am super duper excited. I have 3 Secret Santa gifts to prepare with a budget of £10 each. I love all things creative and this year, being slightly broke and all..I thought recycling your wrapping in the most creative way is the best way forward to save the pennies and use what you have…so much more fun this way. My first Secret Santa is a work do…luckily I know her and she is lovely! I was so inspired by Clinique’s chubby stick sweet wrapping campaign and decided to make my own twist on that concept. I rummaged through my “stationary pile” and found this brand new leopard print scarf…it was a freebie and I would never where it. It struck me to use this as my wrapping and I am pleased with the result! It looks like a Christmas cracker..with a touch of class. Secret Santa number 1… Done!

My second Secret Santa is for a guy..slightly difficult to get a prezzie for a guy! Was in Urban Outfitters the other day and found this Where’s Wally book… I love Where’s Wally and surely you can not go wrong with that?? Also, it is within budget and not only bought 1…I bought 2 instead (keepsake for myself). Gift found, now for the exciting wrapping! Found my latest Now Magazine and ripped out pages that will feature any buff abs and trashy gossip columns. Luckily, I found one of Kim Kardashian’s infamous swimsuit pic with her amazing ass!!! That had to feature on my wrapping. If my Secret Santa gift is not appreciated…I hope he at least appreciate the wrapping. Secret Santa number 2… Done!

1 more Secret Santa to go… hopefully I can find something soon…and it’s for my brother in law… hmmm what to get for £10!!

Bespoke Mr Men Gift

Even though Christmas is 19 days away, I am still frantically looking for gifts!!! Popped into Selfridges to check out their Christmas section as it was walking distance away from work. On the fourth floor I spotted a rather unique pop up shop..a bespoke service to buy your very own Mr Men and Little Miss covers with your choice of name. I love the idea and I absolutely love Mr Men. I grew up reading these books and saved 99p eah time to buy a book as a kid. One of my best friend Natasha bought me a Little Miss book for my birthday a few years back..and it is time for me to get her a special Little Miss Natasha.

The pop up shop was clearly very busy and very popular but luckily it was only a half hour wait. The options differ in size, frame or no frame. You can’t help but go all the way..why skimp on the frame? I hope she loves it when she opens this on Boxing day.

The final touch, a gift finished smelling of Lady Million by Paco Rabanne.
