Jose Eber Hair Curling Iron Review

Jose Eber Result

I have been rather lucky in my family to have the biggest volume of hair and have always loved to have it wavy. I have stuck by with Jose Eber for 6 years…with the same curling iron. I thought it would be great to share how much I this curling wand. It is heat generated so it doesn’t burn your hair as much as other curling wands do. Recently, I bought another wand which is bigger and thicker as my hair grew longer. Bigger wand means I will have looser curls and less of a ringlet.

Jose Eber CUrling Iron

Before Look with my natural straight hair

tie up first half

start from the inside

loose curls

easy to curl

Tresemme holding spray

If you do want larger volume hair, layer your curls! I tie up my first half and use a large wand for the bottom layer, and then I move on to the top layer with my smaller Iron fir a tighter wave. It is so important to use heat protection spray, last thing you need is nasty split ends and dry coarse hair so I use Tresemme hair protection products to do the job! Jose Eber is so easy to use and takes me about 20 minutes to do the job! Spritz with firm holding spray, slap on some natural makeup and I am good to go.

I highly recommend Jose Eber and I got mine in Harrods which retails for £100 (6 years later it is still the same price). You just plug it in, switch it on and let it heat for a few minutes. Make sure it is on the heat protected mat, I made the mistake on leaving it on the carpet..curled my hair only to find burnt carpet stuck to my hair (yes which I then had to cut it out). I was a victim 6 years ago strolling into stores and constantly getting approached to get my hair curled, but every time I walk by I am like “I have 2 of those already”.

I hope you have enjoyed my post, it will be great to hear what curling tongs you use and follow me on Facebook <3

This is an unexpected post today and decided to have some photography fun with my lovely friend and co-worker! As we walked no more than 5 minutes by Regents Park, we found a secluded/private terrace location (full of Bentleys and Porsches). I wish I could live here, the terraces are full of heritage with modern British twist. It was a little cold today, however, perfect lighting for this fun shoot. This is probably my first ever style post and thought I’d start off with a casual one. I sit in the office all day long and luckily, I don’t have to wear a boring suit!

I am so use to chilling out on large patches of green in Hyde Park and Regent’s Park and all my life I have only discovered Italian Gardens now?! How gorgeous is this? It is far busier than I would like it to be but I can see why they love the fountain centre pieces and statue goddesses around the garden. The sound of the water from the fountain is soothing to the ears as the sun hits 26 degrees. I wished there was an ice cream van to cool me off with a 99 flake! The Italian Gardens is located just opposite Gloucester Road station and a short walk from High Street Kensington. For this beautiful day, I decided to go floral with this cute vintage looking skirt from Forever 21 and a white v top from Zara.

Sock Glove 1

What a horrible, wet, rainy day! Stayed indoors all day with my laptop and brewed a hot cuppa tea whilst hiding behind my laptop. It had been a rather productive day actually; de-cluttered my room, updated my iPod shuffle with new music and sorted out my wardrobe (clothes were allover my chair and…floor). This is my quiet time at home where my mum isn’t singing and playing at the same song on the piano over and over again. My future-brother-in-law came over and gave me a quick tutorial on my Canon 400d camera and learnt so much in the space of 10 minutes! Either what he says resonates…or I am just a quick learner!
I really want to give credit to my friend Sev who gave me these lovely foot gloves, they are handmade by local women in Turkey all for a good, economic cause! I love the design, the details are intricate and flawless between each weave. It is very comfortable to wear around the house, the perfect alternative for slippers! I hope in the near future she can launch her range and if you are interested in a pair for yourself or as a gift, feel free to let me know ^__^

Boux Avenue pink taffeta body scrub and lotion

Boux Avenue Pink Taffeta body lotion in rose amber and peony

Boux Avenue body scrub in peony and roses

I was absolutely spoilt today by my sister! She brought over a crate full of beauty products she no longer uses and I felt like I was in cloud beauty! I picked up this brand spanking new body scrub and body lotion from Boux Avenue, a lingerie brand similar to La Senza and aspiring to be like Victoria Secret! The bottle/tub was huge, which means I don’t have to buy a lotion/body scrub any time soon!
The Body scrub came in handy today, brought it with me to the gym and after my spinning class; I used the body scrub straight away and applied generously. It has sugar and sea salt with a pink taffeta scent which helps buffer and smoothen the skin for soft and luminous glowing skin. My skin now feels moisturised without feeling oily with a hint scent of delicious ‘pink taffeta’, let’s say it smells flowery.
The Body lotion smelt gorgeous! I love flowery scents and after a day smelling of sweat in the gym, what I needed was a bit of Boux ‘ooh’ Avenue feeling.

beautiful delicate purple flowers

white lilies

The Boux Avenue beauty collection are affordable and definitely generous with the sizes of their bottles/tubs. They make great gifts for the girly girl and as pretty props for the bathroom. What I also like abit these are that they are Manufactured in England! Hope you have enjoyed my post and enjoy the rest of your Friday.

Gail's pea and mint ravioli lemon and ricotta salata

Gails sticky chicken roasted garlic carrods almond main sharing for two

Gail's dessert special which is flourless chocolate cookie with vanilla ice cream sandwich

No matter the weather, I will always make time for Gail’s. After a long day at work, I wanted to chill out and relax with Gail’s selection of patisserie and cake selections. After a short walk to Goodge Street, Gail’s Bakery was closing in half hour!! I wished I turned up earlier. Nethertheless, Gail’s Kitchen was open until 10.30pm which was perfect; I had no idea they had a restaurant section. The service was warm and made me feel very welcomed. He presented us the Gail’s dinner menu and suggested some of his favourite dishes and explained that portions are relatively small and perfect for sharing. I ordered a refreshing homemade lemonade with elderflower to start with and ordered the following:

Pea & Mint ravioli, lemon and ricotta salata – £7, Sticky chicken, roasted garlic, carrots and almonds – £8, Salmon avocado sorrel yoghurt pears salad £7, Today’s dessert special: chocolate flourless cookie with vanilla ice cream sandwich – £6

My favourite dish was the salmon avo sorrel yoghurt pear salad. It really took me by surprise, the combination sounds unusual but it was incredibly delicious! I haven’t tasted anything like this, the smooth avocado yoghurt mix sat well with the sorrel salad with sashimi like slices of salmon with a hint of pear crunch! I am so gutted for not having a picture to show you, the picture came out so blurry it just wouldn’t do the plate justice.

Interestingly, not only do they have Gail’s Kitchen and Gail’s Artisan Bakery, they have a central working space for those who wants to chill out and study as well as an independent hotel upstairs. Unusual mix indeed so we decided to tour around before we leave. Even the walkway to the loo felt like home with this mirror centrepiece! Couldn’t help but pose for a mirror shot! To end, what a cute “old school love” note for the toilet figures…who new they were lovers and forever separated! Fate. I hope you have enjoyed my post. May xx

Wake up to Kiehl’s Facial Moisturiser and Creme de Corps

kiehls moisturising duo

Woke up this morning feeling…absolutely THIRSTY! I slept rather late last night and didn’t drink as much water as I should have throughout the day! No one likes a Monday, but luckily I got to switch off my alarm and sleep in. How? Why? No, I didn’t pull a sicky! What’s great about my workplace is that you can have a Birthday day off (doesn’t count as a holiday) which meant I can enjoy my 3 day weekend yay. The house is empty, the sun is just about shining through and found these lovely Kiehl’s bottles in my sister’s box of beauty stash. She’s away on holiday, a different time zone means she won’t read my “can I use your Kiehl’s moisturiser please?” Desperate  for an intense moisturiser for my dried up face I decided to try this out. I remembered my sister saying (as I quote) “no, you can not have this, it’s very expensive and really really good!”  so I couldn’t help myself with her tempting words of wisdom.

kiehls ultra face moisturiserThe Kiehl’s facial moisturiser is suitable for all skin types and all I needed was a small amount. It was very rich in moisture; packed with Vitamin A and Vitamin E. I believe this is something I would apply once in a while and switch between a lighter moisturiser and for this size bottle, it is a great investment at £24 for a 125ml bottle since I moisturise my face religiously everyday, morning and night.

kiehls all over body moisturiser lotionKiehl’s Creme de Corps all over body moisturiser: this was absolutely perfect for me! I am rubbish when it comes to moisturising my body daily. My legs felt instantly supple, soft and rejuvenated; it was a definite sign that my legs were hydrated (eek) and this is perfect if you fail to moisturise your body regularly and want a now and again application. Again, a 125ml bottle is the perfect size to last me 2 months if used regularly (if my sister allows me to have this..if not, steal). Kiehl’s Creme de Corps comes in cheaper than the Kiehl’s ultra facial moisturiser at £16. Any intense moisturisers out there I should know about? May xx

What a busy day it was at Borough on a Saturday! I haven’t been here since last year with my sisters and whilst strolling along the back street of the bustling market, we found a bread crumb trail up this 5 floor building to find a quiet 360 view of London. It was a jackpot view- no one was around and we had this rooftop all to ourselves. I must admit…this is not a public rooftop, the gate was opened and climbed up the five floors. 5 minutes later, an energetic granny came up to collect her laundry and asked us “do you live here? You are not suppose to be here, how did you get in?!” We were very apologetic, and perhaps we knew at the back of our minds that we did in fact trespassed her block. We engaged in long conversations and asked “if it’s ok to take some pictures before we go” and she was so lovely to let us stay. We enjoyed the view of the Shard and the Gherkin, a complete 360 view of London as we watched the overground train go by every 10 minutes. It was a perfect location for my outfit shot I bought yesterday at Zara in Oxford Street. I love this pink blush top with a sewn in gold chain neck detail. I paired this with a casual pair of ripped jeans also from Zara with my sister’s Steve Madden’s lace up boots.

cremerie creperie waffle in south kensington

cremerie creperie at south kensington

I am a massive foodie and have the sweetest tooth in my family! After wondering around the square at South Kensington, I noticed this turquoise extension written “Cremerie Creperie” which caught my attention. The queue was big and thought to myself; there must be a reason why this place forms queues and nowhere else. After queueing for 10 minutes, we managed to get a seat for two. Cremerie Creperie offered savoury and sweet crepes as well as sweet waffles and what did I go for? Nutella and almonds waffle with milk chocolate drizzle with Mint green smoothie (with avocado and apples). When my plate arrived, it was beautifully presented with crushed nuts over my chocolate drizzled waffle. As I sliced into my waffle, I could instantly tell the waffle was fresh out the waffle maker! It was incredibly soft and warm to the taste. The decor inside was average and cramped with tables; however I couldn’t deny how good my waffle was. Satisfied customer? Indeed.

I had the pleasure of attending Pandora’s Breakfast launch for their new Zodiac Essence collection on Tuesday. Despite on my way to the Breakfast launch, tripping up on the escalator and grabbing a random guy’s ankle is not the perfect morning I wished for! Nevertheless, I have made it, and so have fellow bloggers too. I was greeted with drinks and canopes upon arrival whilst soaking in the Pandora atmosphere. Admittedly, I was once a Thomas Sabo girl; but what I love about Pandora is that they have captured women who’s blossomed from their teenage years to appreciate the meaning and value of each of their charms through life experiences. I am a proud Gemini and I was presented with this sterling silver Gemini charm on a grey single strand bracelet. Once it was clipped on around my wrist, my heart was sold to this dainty, charming bracelet. They make the perfect gift as well as a meaningful treat for yourself where you can mix and match a choice of charms. My perfect Essence charm bracelet will be: Gemini, Happiness, Loyalty, Love, Positivity and Trust.

Curious about my outfit today? I thought you’d never ask! Alice from Form 42 decided to go snap happy with our new Pandora bracelet at the Royal Exchange at Bank. I do like the Japanese school-esque look by matching checkered trousers (Zara) with navy blue cardigan (Abercrombie & Fitch). I am quite petite, so high heels are a must which I am wearing my black leather boots (H&M).
I like minimalistic jewellery and Pandora Zodiac Essence charm bracelet was the perfect match with my silver Burberry watch. You can find jewellery online easily at Pandora or check out their stunning pictures on their Instagram. I hope you have enjoyed my post today on Pandora’s Essence Collection.

Last Tuesday, I attended Pandora’s Essence Collection Breakfast launch. If you have read my last post, I have dedicated my outfit post at the Royal Exchange for Pandora which I was super duper excited to wear the beautiful Pandora Zodiac Essence bracelet. Finally, I managed to get hold of some images for the launch from the amazing Alice from Form 42. I had such a lovely time bonding with Alice and Mariko (bloggers at the event) whilst enjoying the canapés and fresh juices. The Essence collection was stunning and had a closer look at all the Essence charms available- if I had to choose which charms goes on my bracelet, it will be: Gemini, Happiness, Loyalty, Love, Positivity and Trust. You can find jewellery online at Pandora where you can find all available Essences. Then, I had a horoscope reading which I have never experienced before and the only thing I remembered was that I will marry some tall and big hahaha. There goes my fingers crossed to even be married ; ) and funny enough, my 2 sisters’ partners are really really really tall!

I kept my outfit for this occasion is rather casual with pale blue and white accents. Jeans from Zara | Panel shirt from Topshop | white pleated floaty top from Zara | Bracelet from Pandora Essence Collection | Photographer: Alice from Form 42

Estee Lauder Advanced night repair eye serum infusion and advanced night repair synchronized recovery complex II with Aqua Vita 24hours moisturizing cream gel for oily and combination skin

estee lauder advanced night repair eye serum review does it work

Estee Lauder advanced night repair synchronized complex II with pipette review which leaves skin luminous plump and brightI have been using the Estee Lauder advanced night repair and eye serum for the past 3 months and I have noticed the changes it has made to my skin and complexion. There are plenty of serums out in the market, but not quite like Estee Lauders night serum. I apply the repair serum every night before applying a new moisturizing cream to settle it. At the moment, I am using Apivita aqua vita 24 hour moisturizing cream to keep my skin hydrated for 24 hours a day. My face gets so dry through out the day and it is difficult to apply any moisturisers when you have makeup on the face for the day so this is perfect. I love waking up every morning to see a brighter skin and smoother complexion.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Complex II - reduces signs of ageing, precise night time renewal, radiant and toned. 30ml bottle retails at £48.00

Estee Lauder  Night Repair Eye Serum Infusion – Significantly reduces signs of ageing around the eyes of fine lines, wrinkles, puffiness, dark circles, dryness. I apply this before I got to bed and when I wake up for better results. 15ml bottle retails at £45.00

Apivita Aqua Vita 24 hour Moisturizer – 98% natural ingredients, dermatologically tested for €29.50 for 50ml tub.

I have reviewed the Estee Lauder Night Repair serum a few months ago for the #nomakeupselfie for Cancer Research challenge where my skin complexion was all thanks to this wonderful, skin rejuvenating serum. May x

Borough market is really growing on me, the only thing I dislike is how busy it gets on a Saturday, but that’s why it is so popular right? I had my first every oyster experience and I have to say, I thought it will be fishy, slimy and gungy; however to my surprise, it’s delicious with lemon and vinegarette! Through my friend’s recommendation, Richard Haward’s oysters are the best and pay the Borough market price for it. Not bad at all and makes me think how restaurants can charge so much for them when you can get them fresh and tastier here. There is so much variety when it comes to lunch time, food from all around the world in one place! I must say, the chorizo sandwich was so tasty, look how red and juicy that looks? It was definitely a day of just pure eating, screw the calories, happiness is definitely through my tummy And FYI… 3BIS gelato ice cream was the cherry flavour of my day!

I am not a morning person at all and generally struggle to wake up before 9am. You may have been aware that it is the time of season where sales are hitting the streets left right and centre. As an ex Harrods girl, I had the itch to grab myself a good bargain at Harrods..but this time with no discount : ( Modestly, all I wanted to buy in the sale is a new handbag! Not only did I find myself a Longchamp seasonal, medium short handle le pliage at half price, and make do with an okay ish orange colour, a blush pink box bag caught my eye! It was a Coach box bag that drew me in and I absolutely fell in love with it. I am so ecstatic with my bag purchases  and thought, let me check out the shoes at least. And oh my Jeez, it was jam packed with queues at Chanel, Gucci and Tod’s with sale hungry women to bag themselves a bargain or two. After browsing around I saw these amazing Balenciaga black wedges with a bizarre grey wedge. Tried them on- absolutely gorgeous and surprisingly comfortable. How much? From £470 down to £139…snapped! Not 1, but 2 Balenciaga wedges in black and in navy blue. Yes, I may have to go hungry for abit from my splurge over the weekend but was it worth it? Oh totally! Next day, I wore my purchases to strut around London, damn it feels good to wear new stuff ( I think I have a problem). Met up with Alice (Form 42)at Liverpool Street to discover more of London’s hidden locations! After a horrific period of downpour, we managed to snap a photo or 10 for my little post. Had such a lovely day catching up with my two favourite girls from Uni. We had a light lunch at Cafe Concerto thinking I could use my tastecard for 50% off the bill, only to find out they’ve stopped accepting tastecards this year..boo! I am so surprised how lovely the day was in London, it was absolutely scorching! It is definitely a sign that Summer is hear and get my pasty legs out for some colour. Who knew Warren Street could look so empty over the weekend, but I enjoy the fact that it’s peaceful and shoot my outfit of the day. Bless my friend, she was so baffled by all the settings on my Canon camera, but gave her a quick mini session on how it works (not like I know much either!) before she got all excited and started taking angular photos…but we got there in the end with straight photos! It was such a lovely day out to hang out with her and returned the favour to take some lovely photos to update her Facebook profile hehehe. From what I can see, the number of Likes were rolling in for her.

I love novelty stuff and flicking through Instagram pics and seeing these fabulous, colourful straws from The Pink Diary blog (my absolute favourite blog), I had to get my hands on them. Summer is here (Woo!) and there’s plenty to go round for these funky straws. I want to start juicing and use the juicer my friend got for me for my Birthday a couple years back. Why is it so hard to find these kind of straws in shops? Anyhow, found plenty of these online (I asked for a mixed bag of prints so I got hearts, dots, stripes of every colour they had) and now all I need to do is sit back, legs up, watch World Cup (go Netherlands) and sip on some homemade Smoothies. It has been a while since I last posted a nail post! This time, I thought I do something a little different and combine couple of my fav colours. I didn’t realise that painting the first coat in peach will subtly lift the Barbie pink polish and vice versa. The double coating gives a pro manicure look but oh crap, Barry M can be rather streaky and takes a while to dry. Perhaps I have had these nail polishes for too many years?! The black and gold web like design is by far my favourite Incoco stick on nail polish which I can not stress how easy they are to apply and remove like any nail polish. I am pleased how well they turned out and didn’t think Barbie pink and black will go well together. I make sure that a top coat is applied on my stick on nail polish to ensure that they don’t chip or peel away. I hope you have enjoyed my nail post today and love to hear your thoughts. Have you tried Incoco before?

Hi guys, hope you are all having a fab day. After work, I met up with Alice from Form 42 at St Paul’s. For such a lovely day, flowers are in full bloom and the view of St Paul’s was stunning. I must say, peak hours on the tube is a nightmare, especially the Circle line- felt like the scene at Lion King where a stampede was coming in a direction my way. It was stuffy and crowded and luckily made it out alive. It was all worth it in the end, as a Londoner..or more specifically a north Londoner, I rarely visit the east part of London and never took the chance to appreciate what St Paul’s had to offer. Along the back of St Paul’s, there is a long gate full of roses and everyone jumped on the chance for the perfect photo op! And I definitely had mine, what a lovely end to my day. I hope more days like this to come.

What am I wearing: Zara turquoise floral silk top, Topshop print shirt in grey, Dorothy Perkins cropped Jeans, Zara embellished sandals in black, Topshop jungle clutch, Folli Follie blue watch

Hey everyone! Thanks for dropping by on my beauty post of the day. First of all, I want to say that I had already written a massive paragraph for this post, saved it and all was gone! This new WordPress layout has some bad glitches and it really did annoy me as I spent valuable time writing this post for it to just disappear. Anyway, rant over, what’s done is done I guess.
Moving on swiftly, I wanted to share with you guys the Cath Kidson of British beauty- Heathcote and Ivory. Heard of them? I didn’t, I only noticed them when I was in Next retail store. They were in a set of 3 and thought to myself; they are the perfect travel size companions! These are the rose flavoured ones and they smell lush. Yes, I love to use my Estee Lauder’s and Kiehl’s, but sometimes; the cheaper stuff works too. I hope you have enjoyed my light post and enjoy the rest of the day. May xx
