Happy Easter everyone!! I’ve enjoyed sleeping in and doing nothing more than spend some quality time blogging, juicing and watch 4music on telly all day! I recently bought a Breville blend active blender juicer, thanks Ellie from the Young Domestic Goddess blogger for recommending this! It’s the best investment I have made this year and it’s only £25/£30 online; you get 2 600ml bottles with it. I immediately put the juicing to the test so I ran to my local Asda to buy all of my ingredients. Although, I didn’t think this through…I turned up to ASDA with no recipe guide oops! I am a massive follower of My Healthy Dish, she has some amazing food and beverage recipes that are not only good for you but super delicious and inspiring. The recipe I chose from her blog was the Creamy Green Smoothie 1 which appears very easy!
The ingredients are as follows:
X1 Granny Smith apple
X1 whole banana
X1 whole avocado
2 handful of Kale (you can add more if you wish)
2 cups of almond milk
This smoothie recipe serves 2 and the costing breakdown is:
Apple (80p) + Banana (10p) + Avocado (£1) + Kale (50p) + Almond Milk (45p) = £2.85 for 2
The blender is so amazing it takes 30 secs max to blend it all (and most importantly, very easy to clean). Your standard smoothie would normally cost £4.50 per serving, but to make your own will only cost £1.43 per serving; and you have the satisfaction of making it at the comfort of your own home feeling accomplished! My mother and sister seems pleased with my smoothie making skills so it’s a success!! Can’t wait to make more smoothies; especially when Summer is just around the corner. Any great, easy recipes out there you may want to suggest?
May x
