I was really excited to receive the latest Asus tablet called the ZenPad S 8.0 in white. I have every tech I need as a blogger; a DSLR camera, my phone, a compact digital camera and my MacBook. The one thing I don’t have is a tablet! Obviously it’s not essential but my schedule is getting busier where I am relying my weekends to write up my posts or stay at work a little longer to write it up. I don’t know about you but I don’t find it particularly practical to write up my post on my phone and since iPhones aren’t known to have the longest battery life I rather reserve my battery for Instagram and whatsapp. The lovely guys from Asus kindly sent me their new ZenPad with interchangeable cases which also has a rechargeable, portable battery pack (awww you guys :-)). The tablet is slim, chic and elegant that fits on the palm of my hand like a clutch.
I left my tablet to charge for the whole day and after 24 hours later I began downloading all the apps I needed to keep my blogger life in check. So what did I think?

General Navigation:
A good size tablet at 8 inches, very crisp and clean, obviously not as fast as the Apple products and rather similar to Samsung layout and keyboard. As an iPhone user I have yet to get used to certain buttons located on different side of the keyboard but that’s more to do with habit.

Battery Life:
Very good battery life but I only use it when I have wifi and since I have access to wifi at work and at home my apps do ping regularly with notifications from Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and galore. This meant my battery life does reduce much quicker with my social apps.

Camera:
I love taking photos and photography is core to what I do on the blog and on social media. I was a little disappointed with the camera quality (even when adjusting the camera quality to the best) at 8 megapixels for the rear camera and 5 megapixels front facing with an aperture of f2.0
Despite the reduced camera quality it doesn’t bother me as I normally use my phone and camera to take photos.

Can I blog with ease?
The answer is yes and I have written the post in the space of 1/2 hour. I did hesitate to find the punctuations but again that’s more to do with habit. As for uploading photos I would probably leave that to my laptop as I require Photoshop to edit my photos before uploading. Overall, I find it very easy to blog comfortably wherever I go, sit sideways, in bed or upside down ( I did try but not an option I’d take ;)). One advice though; I would suggest to switch off auto updates when on wifi because it can slow the navigation down.

Value for Money?
It’s a beautiful tablet and my colleagues and blogger friends also seem to approve. The Asus ZenPad S 8.0 retails at £169.99 which includes 16GB of internal storage and expandable with the microSD slot. The ZenPad is powered by a quad-core Intel® Atom™ processor that opens apps relatively quickly. For this price; it’s crazy affordable, thin, light weight and portable indeed! If you cannot afford the expensive tablets in the market that does mean breaking the bank; the Asus Tablet cosmetically appears more expensive than its price tag and in fact; you don’t need to break the bank if you want a tablet to blog on the go. I actually carry my Zenpad in my backpack wherever I go now as it doesn’t take much space or weight. Thank you Asus for filling the void in my blogger life! And thanks Koray for taking the pics for me :) To find out more about the tablet and their range; check out there site or Tweet/Facebook your question to them 😉
So what are your thoughts? Are tablets handy for us on-the-go bloggers to keep up?
