When Yoga Meets Art Gallery: Inhale Exhale Yoga at Pi Artworks Gallery

When I first posted this picture from my inhale exhale yoga class on Instagram and Facebook, I’ve noticed a sudden surge in interest. First of all, I think it’s a fab idea to use art gallery spaces for yoga – not only is it quiet but also very inspiring, motivating and calming (instead of your typical 4-walled bland room). I have visited a lot of yoga studios and nothing compares to this – it’s the best looking space for a yoga practice by a mile. Gemma is the founder of inhale.exhale.yoga and I have been lucky enough to practice with her and fellow yogis during the session at Pi Artworks Gallery on Tuesday.

“inhale.exhale.yoga. is taught in a vinyasa flow style. Vinyasa means that various postures are linked together in an intelligent way to form short sequences. The result is a dynamic, rejuvenating session focusing on movement, breath, safe alignment and fun!”

What got her into practicing yoga?
“Initially yoga felt like a great form of exercise which helped to stretch and strengthen my aching back and shoulders. It then became apparent that I was finding more and more peace in my otherwise-busy mind, which was extremely welcome! Eventually, somewhere in between the movement of the body and stillness of the mind a little bit of magic would occur. It felt amazing. It’s the physical challenge, mental inquiry and bursts of magic that always bring me back to yoga”

The gorgeous artwork matched the quality of the yoga practice and is suitable for all levels. The gallery off course is subject to change which is great but there will be days when the gallery will be a blank canvas. Nevertheless; this class gave me more than just a yoga practice – but to inspire me with creativity from Pi Artworks Gallery. Book yourself in and see for yourself 🙂 there are no changing rooms (because it’s an art gallery) and you must bring your own yoga mat (this gives me a chance to practice on my favourite Elenaughts design mat by Artogi).
