I’ve been to The Regency Club bar and grill twice now and have enjoyed it the both times I’ve been here. This place is a little unusual; it’s a massive pub like restaurant but to get in; you have to ring the doorbell/buzzer before they let you in. I know, it is really really bizarre with mixed messaging signs asking you to dress smart when everyone in there is very casual. Anyway; the door buzzer will forever baffle me. That evening; I was starved; had to go to a dress fitting for my friend’s wedding in the Summer and that didn’t end until 3 hours later! It was 10pm and my friend and I were going to die of starvation. So we ordered everything vegetarian (because our friend is a veggie):
Tikka Paneer: so delicious; comes in a plate of 9 square pieces. One advice, eat it whilst it is still hot. Paneer is a type of milk curd cheese which is a bit like halloumi but not as squeeky.
Chilli and garlic mushrooms: you can not go wrong with garlic mushrooms, very juicy with a mild chilli kick.
Chilli Paneer dish I cannot remember what it was called but it so happened to be my favourite dish. It was really spicey; slightly more than what I can handle but the flavour and spices were sooooo good I pretty much ate half the plate.
To accompany the dish we ordered a basket of Tandoori roti to dip into the sauces between dishes. We managed to scoff everything down so fast we finished it all in a space of half an hour. It came down to about £10 per head which isn’t bad at all. I wouldn’t normally come here as it isn’t local for me; but if I were to meet up with my friends near around Queensbury; that’s where I would go. Other than that; I don’t think there’s anything to do or eat really. I never used to like Indian food; but slowly I am going to the right places and Indian food is really starting to grow on me.
